Awakening Moment

It was this photo that triggered my senses and made my photography desires come to fruition. Last year in November, we went to California to spend time with family and got to enjoy a whole beach to ourselves. I had my blackberry and was just taking shots until I captured these moments which to me are priceless and really set the tone for my journey here. This is a photo of my sister in laws Belle and Kathy with our nephew Dan Jr. This was his first time to the beach and he was ready to attack the water!

Daaang, you took this w/ a blackberry?! That's crazy! I loove this pic! I just might try to "reinact" this scene in Maui next week! I hope this is framed somewhere in your house!

So lucky! Seriously you are wonder mom taking all 7 kids with you on the airplane...but flying is second nature for your kids so I'm sure they have a routine when travelling already. Do take as many photos as you can....remember its the image your capturing..forget about all the technical stuff and go for raw shots using good composition, angles, and lighting. You will be amazed with what you can do. I can't wait to get out to a beach again and fire away! Travel safe.

Wow! If you can do this with a blackberry, what more with a SLR! By the way, I'm Joan and found your blog through jasmine star's blog :)

Joan,
So nice to meet you! Loved you blog and your pictures...girl, I think you definitely are at the Jasmine-level...yeah I got so jasmine star struck when she replied to my novice questions as a beginning photographer. She is great and I'm so excited for you! What a great opportunity....hopefully one day I will be able to attend her infamous workshop but for now I hope WPPI will fill that void. Yeah, you'd be suprised how many great shots my trustworthy blackberry captured, and thanks for the compliment! Its definitely encouraging! Keep in touch!
