New Website is almost done!!!!! YAY!

Like the picture above, I feel like all the pieces are coming together as my new website will be ready to launch very soon. I feel like I have been spinning and spinning to get this off the ground but revamping this website has taken alot longer than planned but also given me time to really review my business plans and goals for this year. Can you believe its already been a year since I picked up a camera and dived into all of this stuff...Time sure does fly by!

If I would of listened to my husband, this project probably would of been DONE long time ago, had I hired someone to work on my website....but no, I'm such a DIY kind of person that nothing seems to hard and if I have to teach myself, I will......which has resulted in way too many months of trying to get my website together and all my work showcased: lots and lots and lots of pictures that still have yet to make the web:. Yes, had I spent a few hundred dollars and outsourced this job it would of been done with a quickness, but with this economy saving money is the best thing one can do for themselves!

However, ask me if I would ever try this again - HECK NO! There are just too many codes to keep track of! I am grateful to know that there are professionals who know what they are doing.....so although this DIY has taken long, next time I should need an upgrade, I've learned that I may just have to save up for that one:)..did i just contradict myself?...no its called rationalizing!...my middle name!

Don't expect anything grand, but I'm happy and will hope to have it up and running here very soon:) Thanks to all those who continue to follow my work despite my efforts and habits of DIY, my crazy schedule, and being behind on posting my work!

This year has been exceptional as I have limited the shoots I take on and its been such a relief to have more control over my work. I know last year was all about trial and error. I never said "No" to a job and found myself barely surviving all the work that had come my way. So as I began booking into 2010, I made sure to take on what I could handle amidst juggling a my family time, a FT job, and just everything!

I'm bummed I had to forfeit my going to WPPI this year because that was a foundational piece to my photography. WPPI was really the place that allowed me to learn what I needed to do to make all the difference in my business....but my man trumped WPPI by far and we were able to enjoy a lil' unplanned getaway with no kids to California. It was so worth it!

I have lots to share and can't wait to get everything up and running. Until then!

Update!

Dear Internet,
I don't know what else to say other than I have done a terrible job in blogging for the last few months. Please be patient with me as I promise there is alot in store with the new year soon approaching. Things have been so fast paced with my work that I've focused lately on just getting things done for my clients in a timely manner. I also am working on a new blog and alot of great products for the new year. For those of you who have had a photo session with me this year and have yet to see your pictures posted to my blog.... it is in the works and I will have everything up before the end of the year. To be quite honest, being that this is my first year in the photography industry, I think I got a little too excited and booked way too much work not taking into consideration my post production and then having to overlap photo shoots while still working through post production with past shoots. Then of course I have my FT job with WGU, mom, wife, etc, etc. I don't want to make up too many excuses but to simplify - LIFE has just been very busy with everything going on and I apologize.

So please bare with me and thank you in advance for those who have still continued to follow and support my work. I am booked until July of 2010 and will be taking on more after July. If you have anything going on before then, you are welcome to check with me for cancellations and I can see what we can do. However, for sure anytime after July should be open as of right now.

Until then, I hope to have everything up and going with my new website, look, and plans for the new year! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving this week and stay tuned for all my recent work for the past few months.

Newborn - Baby Feinga

Since this lil' one was in the womb of his mother I was so excited for the Feinga's to welcome their baby boy to life! From the day I met up with the Feingas for their family maternity shots, I could see how anxious the Feinga's were to have their first child. I couldn't wait for this lil' boy to arrive and when he did, Kass was ready for his pictures. Baby Feinga is 9 days old in these pictures and how come he was so long that many of the props he couldn't fit but we made due with what worked. I know my favorite shot as well as mom's is the one she requested even before baby Feinga arrived...she specifically asked that baby be rested on Dads back right above his tatoo and boy did that picture turn out to be an all time favorite of mines. I couldn't resist and had to blow it up huge, custom framed, and everyone has fallen in love with it. Thanks Kass for sharing your family with me, and for being the best clients ever. I love this family to death, and am so happy for them. Welcome to the beauties of parenthood where life really begins:)

Parents love note: "Happy, elated, blessed, grateful, humbled! These are some of the many feelings we have when looking at your beautiful face. You have far surpassed our expectations of what we imagined you to be. The joy we feel is incomparable to what people told us to expect becoming parents. The love we have for you is indesribable. We are so thankful to have you a part of our family and to be your parents! We love staring at you and holding you for hours. We love your big smile and love to laugh at you when you're "milk drunk"! We love every single thing about you son!

Catching up......

I know, I know.....I have not put the time and effort that I would of liked into blogging lately and have a ton of catching up to do! Life is like a box of chocolates....how true that statement has been for me within the last few months. Between working a FT job, being mom at the same time and doing photography, the chaos of it all has become a bit of overwhelming but manageable. I'm working on getting better at blogging and turning my shoots around quicker, so a big thank you to all my clients for being patient with me and this learning curve I've hit. Currently, I'm working on a few sessions which I hope to have done by tomorrow and be up to pace with my shoots that are scheduled for the rest of the year.

Another great experience was my 2nd workshop which was a ton of fun! I had decided to do home style session with the Peterson's which turned out beautifully! Thank you to my workshop participants who came and made it such a success, and also to the Peterson family for inviting us into your ultra fabulous home. I learned so much from this shoot, and could see and feel the difference it made to be shooting a family in their own environment. The kids were able to let loose, and lil' Talei who wasn't too happy when we were out on location, she was a doll at home and even showed me around the house with Mia. The Peterson's were even gracious enough to rock out and bust some moves as a family for our cameras which was the highlight of my day! To know that your clients can feel so comfortable around you is the best feeling as a photographer! Also, to see the Peterson's home dressed with Seini Photography was an additional bonus! Loved it! Here are a few sneak peek moments... I also have some pictures from my workshop participants which I will post this weekend and because they did an awesome job, I'm going to send each of them a gift for submitting terrific work! Enjoy!
